No specific seating requirements 

For customers who have no specific seating requirements and are able to sit in any seats within the theatre, you are able to select any standard seat and the access pricing will be available to select under the full price option. If you are also registered for an essential companion ticket, you can select a seat as a free essential companion ticket. 

 

Partially Sighted

For customers who are partially sighted, there are specific seats set aside in the front Stalls as shown below, however these seats may vary depending on the show requirements: 

  • Stalls row D1-2

Audio Description services (at scheduled Audio Described performances)  can be accessed from any seat in the auditorium via the Mobile Connect app on a personal mobile device, though we do recommend seats in the Stalls. Please ensure you bring your device fully charged and ensure you have installed the most recent version of the app. Customers can connect using headsets/headphones or a compatible hearing aid or implant. Touch Tours may be available alongside Audio Described performances. When available, these will be advertised on the show event page.

 

Hearing Assistance

Hearing Amplification for customers who are hard of hearing can be accessed via personal Mobile device using our Wi-Fi based hearing assistance system, Mobile Connect. Customers can access this service via a headset/headphones or compatible hearing aids from any seat within the auditorium when connected via the Mobile Connect app, though we do recommend seats in the Stalls. Please ensure you bring your own device, fully charged and ensure that you have downloaded the latest version of the Mobile Connect app. We recommend also bringing a battery bank or portable charger.

Any member of staff can assist with using this service. Please ask a member of the team or visit Box Office when you arrive.

 

Limited Stairs

For customers who can only manage a few stairs, there are specific seats set aside in the front Stalls as shown below, however these seats may vary depending on the show requirements: 

  • Stalls C21-22

The only step-free level in the theatre is the Stalls, which can be accessed via the side door entrance. When arriving at the venue please speak to any member of the team outside the venue and they will be able to help locate this for you.

 

Stair Free Access

For customers who require seats with stair free access, there are specific seats set aside in the front Stalls as shown below, however these seats may vary depending on the show requirements: 

  • Stalls C1-2

The only step-free level in the theatre is the Stalls, which can be accessed via the side door entrance. When arriving at the venue please speak to any member of the team outside the venue and they will be able to help locate this for you.

 

Wheelchair Spaces 

For customers who require a wheelchair space and will remain in the wheelchair for the duration of the performance, there are specific locations within the theatre to accommodate this including a companion seat as shown below: 

  • Stalls Slip A 7-8

The only step-free level in the theatre is the Stalls, which can be accessed via the side door entrance. When arriving at the venue please speak to any member of the team outside the venue and they will be able to help locate this for you.

 

Wheelchair access to transfer into a venue seat

For customers who require wheelchair access but wish to transfer into a venue seat,  there are specific locations within the theatre to accommodate this including a companion seat as shown below: 

  • Stalls B11-12

The only step-free level in the theatre is the Stalls, which can be accessed via the side door entrance. When arriving at the venue please speak to any member of the team outside the venue and they will be able to help locate this for you.

 

Accessible Toilets

The accessible toilet is located in the main foyer.

There is step-free access from the Stalls auditorium only.

Entrances and exits

The main Stage Door entrance to the venue is located on Craven Street, to the left of the front of the building. There will be barriers and members of staff to help you if needed.

The step-free entrance to the theatre is via the side door entrance, which provides access to the Stalls level.

The main foyer connects to other levels via staircases only.

 

Bringing a bag or medical equipment

If you need to bring medical equipment into the venue, please contact our Access Champion ahead of your visit so we can advise on safety policies and seating options.

 

Stairs within the theatre

The only stair-free area of the theatre is the stalls. For all other levels, stairs are required:

  • Dress Circle (front): 32 steps
  • ‘Green’ or Dress Circle bar: 59 steps
  • Upper Circle: 85 steps
  • ‘Red’ or Basement bar: 25 steps from the foyer / 28 steps from the stage door

     

Seat sizes

All seats in the theatre are approximately 45cm wide.

The majority of seats are flip-up style theatre seats with armrests. There are also fixed chairs (not flip-up) for some areas of the auditorium, such as our tables seating, Boxes, and Slips. Please contact the venue team if you need further information on seat sizing.

 

Additional legroom

If you require additional legroom or space for medical equipment, please contact the Access Champion prior to booking so we can recommend suitable seating.

 

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in the theatre.

If preferred, theatre staff can look after assistance dogs during the performance. Please request this in advance or speak to a member of staff on arrival.

If you would like your dog to remain with you during the performance, please contact the venue so we can ensure your seats have suitable space.
